The classic strategy title from SupercellBoom Beach swept yet another award, this time it’s UNEP’s Choice Awards 2023. Boom Beach faced tough competition from Tencent‘s Carbon Island but was able to secure the top spot for itself. The award comes as part of the developer’s efforts and actions toward helping and healing the planet through its social and environmental actions.

Boom Beach succeeds in delivering a strategic approach on the battlefield

One of the major reasons for the game to success and accumulate such vast fame and fan base was the gameplay and the strategy-based approach that the game offered. Supercell is famous for producing strategic masterpieces like Clash of Clans, and Clash Royale, and no doubt Boom Beach is also a part of that elite group of names. The developer has a great history of developing games of this genre and it is no surprise to see it win yet another accolade.

For those unaware, Boom Beach just like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale allows players to compete against millions of players online and test the strategy and tactics of one another while honing their skillsets in the process. The only difference regarding the gameplay and concept lies in the weaponry and warfare, while Clash of Clans and Clash Royale make use of swords and other such items, Boom Beach as the name would suggest makes use of guns and thus delivers a bit different perspective to warfare.

Boom Beach UNEP's choice award, Boom Beach

While the game is successful and has received many accolades in the past for its brilliant strategical gameplay, this time the award was awarded for the environmental actions that the developers took as part of their social responsibilities. It is great to see that the developers while developing great games and having a profitable business are also able to keep up with their social responsibilities towards society.
