Adding to a roster is never too late. With two acquisitions made right before the Overwatch League’s Summer Showdown tournament qualifications begin, the Houston Outlaws are demonstrating this.

The Outlaws have announced today that main tank Tomas “Doge” Kongsre and primary support Joseph “Lep” Cambriani will join them for the rest of the campaign.

Houston also stated that it will play the remainder of the season with an eight-player roster, dispelling rumors that the organization was trying to deal or sell a number of its players.

Fans of Overwatch Contenders are probably already aware with Tank Doge, since he has competed on both the European and North American circuits since 2019. He has participated for groups like Raspberry Racers and Shu’s Money Crew EU. He most recently played for Saudi Arabia’s 01 Esports.

He’ll probably fill in as a part-time tank on some maps, relieving off-tank Shin “PIGGY” Min-jun and DPS Dante “Danteh” Cruz—the team’s Doomfist specialist—from main tank mayhem due to his extensive expertise with tanks like Reinhardt, Winston, and Wrecking Ball.

Lep’s journey through many Contenders teams, including Revival and Karasuno, is comparable. He most recently participated in the Collegiate circuit for Pirates in Pyjamas and Northwood University’s Overwatch squad.

Due to the adaptability of its two supports, Kim “Ir1s” Seung-hyun and Mun “Lastro” Jungwon, who have enlarged their hero pools to take on major support responsibilities, Houston has been able to survive. Lep will now have the option to fill in for heroes like Mercy or Licio.

Against August 11, at 3:30 CT, the Outlaws will take on the New York Excelsior to begin their Summer Showdown campaign.
